Typical education

**Accountants and auditors typically need at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.**Some junior roles may have different employer-defined pathways.

CPA authority

**CPAs are licensed by state boards of accountancy.**Licensure requires the national CPA examination plus the other requirements of the issuing jurisdiction.
