Florida residents qualify; DFS also describes a narrow route for residents of a bordering state employed in Florida for at least six months by a licensed and appointed Florida general-lines agent. 2. 02 #### Complete a qualifying route Within four years before applying, earn one of the DFS-approved customer-service or insurance designations listed in the qualification sheet, or hold a qualifying degree with at least nine insurance credit hours in property, casualty, and inland marine insurance. 3. 03 #### Apply and submit fingerprints Complete the online application and fees, provide proof of the qualifying prerequisite, and submit fingerprints through the DFS-approved vendor.
