# Connecticut real estate salesperson license

Connecticut requires a salesperson applicant to complete the 60-hour Connecticut principles course, obtain exam approval, pass the PSI examination and activate the license through a Connecticut-licensed broker.

## Credential requirements

### Salesperson license; applicant must be at least 18 and must be affiliated with a Connecticut licensed broker to practice.

1.  #### Education
    
    Complete the 60-hour Connecticut Real Estate Principles and Practices course through an approved provider before seeking exam approval.
    
2.  #### Exam
    
    After the Department approves the application, pass the PSI salesperson examination and its applicable state/national portions within the Department's one-year timing rule.
    
3.  #### Experience
    
    No prior experience is required for a salesperson. A broker license is a later route with active-license experience and additional education requirements.
    
4.  #### Application
    
    Submit the initial application and $80 fee, course evidence and required identification; then activate the license under a licensed broker. Connecticut's general application guidance does not require routine fingerprinting for this credential.
    

**Good to know:** A salesperson license may be placed inactive after application, but active practice requires the broker relationship; confirm the current activation form and deadlines.
