# Delaware CPA permit

Delaware uses a CPA certificate/permit-to-practice framework. The Uniform CPA Examination and work experience lead to the CPA credential; ordinary bookkeeping is not licensed CPA practice.

## 3 credential pathways

Each credential below has its own requirements. Pick the one that matches the work you plan to do.

### Delaware CPA certificate and permit to practice through the post-baccalaureate route.

1.  #### Education
    
    Complete a post-baccalaureate accounting concentration accepted by the Delaware Board.
    
2.  #### Exam
    
    Pass all sections of the Uniform CPA Examination and the AICPA ethics examination before applying for the permit.
    
3.  #### Experience
    
    Complete one year of qualifying accounting experience under the supervision of an active CPA.
    
4.  #### Application
    
    Submit official transcripts, NASBA exam documentation, ethics proof, experience verification, and the Delaware permit application to the Division of Professional Regulation.
    

### Delaware CPA certificate and permit through the bachelor's-plus-150-hour route.

1.  #### Education
    
    Hold a bachelor's degree, complete 150 semester hours, and meet Delaware's accounting concentration requirements.
    
2.  #### Exam
    
    Pass the Uniform CPA Examination and the AICPA ethics examination.
    
3.  #### Experience
    
    Complete one year of qualifying experience supervised by an active CPA.
    
4.  #### Application
    
    File the Delaware permit package with official education, exam, ethics, and experience documents.
    

### Delaware CPA certificate and permit through the bachelor's-plus-120-hour route.

    Hold a bachelor's degree and 120 semester hours with the accounting concentration and subjects required by Delaware's current permit rules.
