Before license issuance, complete the required 12-hour approved ethics and California Insurance Code course; the state examination remains required. 2. ##### Exam Pass the California examination for each requested major line; the 12-hour ethics and California Insurance Code course may be completed after scheduling or taking the exam, but it must be completed before the license is issued.
